We wanted to reach out and let you know that the Epilepsy Foundation has recently launched our new and updated online learning management system for trainings. The Epilepsy Learning Portal can be found at https://learn.epilepsy.com/

Here, you will be able to sign up for, and complete, our free, online, and on-demand seizure training course for school nurses.  You no longer have to wait for someone to bring binders or CDs into your school for the training and you can do it at anytime convenient for you.

A separate on-demand training course is available for school personnel and another for the general public (currently listed as instructor-led). Please feel free to share this training site with your colleagues and student families. Many of these courses do offer continuing education credits and the seizure first aid certification is valid for two years.

We figured you may be interested in having this information as you plan for teacher work days and summer professional learning plans.

These courses will be continuously updated based on new anti-seizure medicines and as new information becomes available.

Please be on the lookout for updates and additional training courses to be added to the site soon.

If you have any questions surrounding seizures, epilepsy and our trainings, please don’t hesitate to contact Sara Franklin at sfranklin@efa.org.

Thank you!
