Acts 152 & 342---- Changes in immunization requirements beginning with 2009-10 school year
 

Act 73---- Electronic transmission of immunization compliance reports utilizing Louisiana Immunization Network for Kids Statewide (LINKS)
 

Acts 342 & 573 ---- The chief school administrator is responsible for checking for immunization compliance
 

Act 210---- Information relative to teaching students grades 6-12 on HPV.
 

Act 802---- Relates to the noncomplex procedures regarding trach suctioning

 

 

 

New legislation passed during 2009 Regular Session of the Legislature affects tracheostomy suctioning and students that self-medicate.

Listed are brief summary of the laws.

 

Act No. 414 -

Amended the wording “outside tracheostomy  suctioning” to “tracheostomy suctioning” allowing the school nurse to delegate this non-complex procedure to a licensed or non-licensed personnel.

Act No. 145-

Permits a student who self medicates to carry an inhaler for Asthma and an epi-pen for Anaphylaxis risk.
